10 best widget apps for iOS 14 and iPhone 12

ios 14 widgets

iOS 14 is Apple’s latest update to its mobile operating system. It was released to supported iPhones last week alongside updates to several other Apple devices.

One of the significant changes to iOS 14 is adding widgets to your iPhone’s home screen finally.

While it is true that Android users were able to do this for many years, it is still a big deal for Apple users.

The ability to add home screen widgets to your iPhone opens up so many possibilities, like being able to have a glance of important information, instant access to app functionalities, and much more.

Unfortunately, the list of first-party widgets made available by Apple is minimal and is not very useful.

However, thanks to third-party apps, there is already a wide range of third-party widget apps available for your iOS 14 installed iPhone.

To save you from the struggle of trying to pick the best ones, we have put together a list of the top 10 best home screen widget apps for iOS 14 that you can download right now to your iPhone.

Before you can use any of the widgets in this list on your iPhone, make sure your iPhone is updated to the latest iOS 14.

To add a widget to your iPhone’s home screen running iOS 14, long-press anywhere on the home screen, click on the plus icon at the top left corner, and then select the widget you want to add.3

The Photo Widget for iOS 14 is purely for aesthetic purposes. It also randomly shows your favorite photos right on your home screen without having to open any app.

To use the widget, first install the Photo Widget app on your iPhone.

Once the app is installed, launch the app, and then you can now add up to 30 photos that you want to be displayed by the Photo Widget on the home screen.

After adding the photos, click on the settings icon in the top right corner of the app to adjust the widget settings and the images’ refresh rate.

Finally, go to the home screen, long-press anywhere, click on the plus icon in the top left corner, and select the Photo Widget from available widgets.

You can also choose between three different widget sizes, including small, medium, and large.

Once you have added the widget, you can now view your favorite photos from your home screen. The images will also automatically change after certain intervals based on your settings.
