Apple Silicon M1 Macs are the latest Macbook and Mac mini devices launched by Apple that have the M1 chip specifically designed by Apple for Macs, replacing the Intel processors.
The Apple Silicon-based M1 chips are performing extremely well in terms of both benchmark tests and real-world usage.

Apple has claimed that the M1 chip is significantly faster and has better power and memory management than any of the Macs they have launched before.
However, this is the first ARM-based Mac that Apple has released. Since most of the apps are designed for the x86 architecture for the Intel-based processors, it might be a while before all the popular apps are updated to be natively compatible with the Apple Silicon M1 Macs.
Apple has still made it possible to use any x86 based apps on your Mac using the Rosetta 2 emulator until the Silicon-based update arrives.
While there are no issues with Apps running through Rosetta 2, only when the Apps are updated for the M1 chip they can be fully optimized and designed to utilize the full capability of the M1 based Macbooks and Mac mini.
