Apple Music recently announced that they are adding Spatial audio, Dolby Atmos, and Hi-Res Lossless music format support to all Apple Music subscribers for no extra charge.
While most Apple Music users worldwide are already able to enjoy their favorite songs in these new formats, users in India still don’t have the option to enable these new sound formats.
If you are from India and are already fed up trying to get the new Lossless, Spatial Audio, and Dolby Atmos, then here is a simple solution to enable Apple Music Lossless, Dolby Atmos, and Spatial audio options and enjoy richer and clearer sounding songs in your library right away.
How to get Apple Music Lossless in India right now
First, make sure you have installed the latest iOS 14.6 update on your iPhone by going to Settings->General->About.
Now go to the Settings app and then open the Music settings. From here, turn off the Sync Library option.
Wait for a few minutes for the changes to reflect, and then enable the Sync Library option again by turning on the toggle.
All the songs you have stored in your Apple Music Library in India will now be available in the new audio formats, including Spatial Audio, Dolby Atmos, Lossless, and Hi-Res Lossless.
Now make sure the Dolby Atomos option is set to Automatic or Always on and the Lossless Audio option is enabled on the Audio quality page.
You can also individually select the WiFi streaming and the quality of the downloads for the songs on the same page.
Connect your iPhone to high-quality headphones, preferably wired, to experience the songs in the highest quality possible.
You can also use your Airpods or any other Bluetooth headphones to listen to the songs, but you will only be able to experience the songs in Dolby Atmos or Spatial audio format as Bluetooth headphones do not support Lossless audio format.
If you want to listen to the songs that are not in your Library in the new high-quality audio formats, add the songs or the albums to your Apple Music Library and repeat the above steps.
Apple Music Lossless in India is probably not yet fully rolled out to India, but once it has been updated, you no longer need to follow these steps to enjoy the songs in your Apple Music Library in a high-resolution format.
